Sunday Social

It's time for Sunday Social with Neely
at A Complete Waste of Makeup!

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
What's your guilty pleasure/comfort food?
Edy's Thin Mint Ice Cream!
What's the weirdest/craziest thing you've ever eaten?
My great aunt was completely crazy and amazing.  She always did and said the most insane things.  She definitely knew how to live.  However, one day while I was spending time with her she made me try cow brain...ick!
Awwww, I miss her!

What foods do you avoid at all costs?
I have actually learned to eat quite a few things that I never thought I would.
Nonetheless, I do struggle with buffets (too many people touching my food) and I do not deal well with my food touching or mixing.
What meal reminds you of your childhood?
Spaghetti!
Spaghetti has been my favorite meal for as long as I can remember and my mom would always fix it for me for special days and sometimes just because.
My momma makes amazing spaghetti, no one can beat it!
Share one of your favorite recipes and the story behind it.
Zucchini Bread...yum yum yum
My mom never baked very much when I was young, but she would make zucchini bread for me every year when my grandma harvested her fresh veggies from the garden!

My Momma's Zucchini Bread:
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp backing powder
3 tsp ground cinnamon (if you are me you double this)
3 eggs
1 c veggie oil
2 1/3 c sugar
3 tsp vanilla extract
2 c grated zucchini

Grease and flour two 8 x 4 inch pans
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F
Sift flour, salt, baking powder, soda, and cinnamon together in a bowl
Beat eggs, oil, vanilla, and sugar together in a large bowl
Add sifted ingredients to the creamed mixture, and beat well
Stir in zucchini and nuts until well combined
 Pour batter into prepared pans

Bake for 40 to 60 minutes, or until tester inserted in the center comes out clean
Cool in pan on rack for 20 minutes
Remove bread from pan, and completely cool

    1. Thin mint ice cream is amazing. I always get it at CVS. I haven't seen anyone else carrying it.
Cow brain is awful. Thankfully I was grade school age so I don't remember it super well...still disgusting though.

Meal that reminds me of childhood? Chocolate gravy and biscuits!!! There is no recipe. Mom gets in there and puts together the best concoction that I could eat with a spoon.
