Yep, I'm jumping on the bandwagon...

So often I post how I live...as closed off as possible. I tend to hide the real me
afraid of being judged, hurt, or taken advantage of. However, I would like to change.
Not just in my life but in blogging as well. I want to be open and transparent.
Therefore, I figured I would I would jump on the bandwagon
and join other bloggers with the 'if you really knew me' posts.

Here is me being super vulnerable:

If you really knew me...

You would know that I cannot eat a meal without spilling food on me or tipping my drink over.

You would know that I constantly do something to embarrass myself, whether it be speaking before thinking, or tripping all over the place.

You would know that I am extremely self-conscious and super uncomfortable in crowds.

You would know that I am actually a very introverted person and have to push myself not to become a mute when around new people.

You would know that I am very sensitive but I can hide my hurt very well.

You would know that I love laughing until my tummy hurts.

You would know that I absolutely love the rain.

You would know that I am an extreme nerd, in the sense that I love Doctor Who, Star Wars, and reading science fiction.

You would know that I love giving gifts...to people I know and do not know.

You would know that I have an old guy crush on Anderson Cooper, despite the fact he is gay.

You would know that I love singer-songwriter music.

You would know that I am way too much of a people pleaser.

You would know that I drink way too much coffee, and really cannot make it through a day without it.

You would know that I am currently really struggling with forgiveness.

You would know that I am super sarcastic. Sometimes I have to be careful!

You would know that I am medicated for OCD...it is bad really. I am constantly amazing my doctor with my obsessive compulsions.

You would know that I really do not know what I want to do with the rest of my life, or what to do about having a family.

You would know that I cannot sleep with my sheet tucked in because it makes me claustrophobic.

Have you posted a 'if you really knew me' post yet?
If so, leave your link I would love to read yours!
Plus, if you have any questions about me, just comment and I promise I will answer most of them! ;)

  1. Loved this post, well done for putting yourself our there, I can relate a lot to what you said about tending to hide the real you due to being worried about being judged/hurt, I'm similar although it is something I have tried to change over the years. I find my blog one of the places I can be pretty open, I guess it's because there is still almost an anonymity about it.
I saw myself in a lot of your statements. Who are your favourite singer/songwriters??

    1. I love Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Joshua Radin, She & Him, Iron & Wine, Bon Iver, Ingrid Michaelson, Colbie Caillat, and a bunch more that I won't bore you with. haha My favorite is Gavin DeGraw though...I don't know if he can still be considered a singer-songwriter since he has become more popular but I think he is.

  2. Thank you for your honesty! I too am very shy around people that I've just met so I can completely relate to that one! I think it's great that you're getting treatment for your OCD and I hope that the dr is helping you with it.
